Rainsford hears the general and the dogs coming his way. He dashes off running further into the jungle of the island. He hears everyone stop. He has no idea why maybe they gave up Rainsford did not know. He finally turns around again and starts running. Rainsford sees a clearing at the end of the jungle hoping that it was not a trap. Rainsford finally made it away. He no longer heard anyone else. He was not sure if the General gave up or if he was still coming for him.
I Hope The General is not following me.
Rainsford reached the end of the forest and it turned out that it was another beach. Rainsford spotted a rock and ran over to it. He noticed something unusual in the sand. He reached down for it. He finally realized that it was his pistol that fell off his belt in the water. It made its way to the island. He picked up the holster and took out the pistol. It was still perfectly clean and intact, meaning that he could use it against the general. Suddenly Rainsford hears rustling in the jungle. He darts behind the rock. He hears the general coming. Rainsford does not know whether to move or stay behind the rock.
Look its my Pistol
Rainsford pears up and sees the general walking out of the jungle onto the beach. The generals pistol was lowered. Rainsford stood up with his gun pointed straight at the general and screamed, “Put the gun down!!!” The general stood there is shock the pistol just fell out of his hand. Rainsford then screamed, “Kick it away now!!!” The general listened with no issue still in shock. Rainsford retrieved the generals gun unloaded it and cleared it and threw it back on the ground. The general finally said, “You won the hunt Rainsford. Ivan already went back to the house to prepare dinner. I am not going to kill you anymore did you just want to go back to my house and I will help you get off this island just as I promised.” Rainsford said, “Sure”
DROP THE GUN!
You won! You Won Rainsford!
and they both went back to the general's house and both of them walked inside and sat down at the dining table and the general said “I have a boat I will let you leave the island tomorrow morning.” Both of them ate dinner and went to bed without issue. Rainsford slept with his pistol just in case the general did anything but the general did indeed stick to his word and brought Rainsford back to the States.
