As you can see Thoth ahs the head of an ibis and the body of a baboon. Obviously, his body doesn't look a baboons body in the picture. One myth on why he had the head of an ibis was the Egyptians thought the curve in the ibis beak was a symbol of a crescent moon.

Hi, I'm Seshat and I take care of Thoth's library of spells and scrolls. I'm also the goddess of writing.
Another myth on why he had the body of a baboon was because the baboon was seen as a nocturnal and an intelligent creature. Lastly, did you know that Thoth was also known as a baboon holding up a cresent moon?
OH NO!! Thoth lost his staff!!
Oh, there is my staff! I'm been looking everywhere for that. SILLY ME!
Anyway, he was said to be self-created or born from the seed of Horus and the head of Set.
Thoth has a feminine counterpart you goes by the name as “Seshat” (the Goddess of writing). Seshat took care of Thoth’s library of spells and scrolls. And his wife's name was “Ma’at.” Thoth also helped Isis work the ritual to get back Osiris from the dead.
Oh sorry didn't see you there. Nice to meet you. My name is Ma'at. I'm also Thoth's wife, no big deal!
