The main conflict is when Leonard kills Chris. Nobody besides him knows that Leonard killed Chris. The rest of the story is about how the rest of his friends try and figure out who killed Chris. They do this because they cared about him and they care about what happened.
The first rising action is when all the children meet together to discuss what happened to Chris. Nobody seemed to realize that Leonard had been acting weird around them. The children were really upset about what had happened to Chris.
Leonard gets really worried that the other kids in the group are starting to catch on to him acting weird around them. He is worried that they will find out he killed Chris. He is worried because he knows that he is the "bad one" in the group and they will not give up until they know what happened.
The main conflict is when all the children start blaming each other. Leonard Knows now that it is a matter of time before one of them figures out that he killed Chris. They will do whatever they can to try and figure out which one of them it is. It starts to become more obvious that Leonard is acting weird around them.
Mildred finally figures out that Leonard is the one who killed Chris. She not only found this out because he ha been acting weird around them but also because he was the only one who didn't have a good reason for where he was the night of the murder. This proves that not only Mildred but the other four care a great deal about who murdered Chris.
Mildred goes and tells the other four, Chris' Parents and the police that Leonard is the one who killed Chris. Leonard is proven Guilty and sent to jail. The other five were sad but at the same time proud that they together solved that case of who killed Christopher Goodman.
