Storyboard Text

  • Individual Rights and Freedoms
  • The people had no choice as to what they could do, how they could live, speak and think. Many innocent people were killed also taking away the right to speak and to even be alive.
  • 3 Rejected Principles of Liberalism
  • The economic collapse of society in general due to actions taken by Amin created the loss of economic freedom for all citizens of Uganda
  • Economic Freedom
  • Self- Interest
  • People were forced to obey all rules by Amin, to benefit him. He believed the people should do everything they can for him and nothing for themselves which is completely taking away their self- interest.
  • That is absolutely horrible! If I was a citizen of Uganda I would never want to support Amin's actions! All those killings is never justified! I will stand against him!
  • Oh yeah, if I oppose him, there will be consequences... knowing that you would be killed for opposing him, I would end up just following along with his ideas because I want to to stay alive. Even though this is a horrible life.
  • Amin did not act at all for the will of the people, or the common good of the nation. He was extremely selfish.
  • Yes he was Deanna, he even fled the country when he saw how things had gotten.
  • That is the tragic story of Uganda under the dictator rule of Idi Amin. His actions were not at all justified.
