when he was a teenager he enrolled in a military school. at first he wasn't a very good soldier but he had good battle strategies.
Napoleon's most famous contribution was the napoleonic code. the code was a set of laws that gave equalization to people. however it did not provide people with greater political freedoms.
napoleon lead many campaigns and he became very popular because of that. In 1799 he was defeated by the british, napoleon wanted to rule france so he hurried back hoping that no one had heard of his defeat
when he got to Paris him and two directors planed to overthrow the directory. this was successful because Napoleon had the french army by his side. he then seized total control and made himself emperor.
Napoleon then attacked the russian army in 1812. The russian then lead the french army into russian heartland. They then burned anything they thought the french would need. Napoleon was defeated and exiled from europe.
