  • It is a beautiful day outside, the sun shining bright and the kids playing outside. Parent are getting of work and are gathering in a circle. The children are getting out of school and gathering rocks for the annual lottery.
  • Its.... Its.... Me
  • You pack of young fools. 70 years, never been picked
  • Mr Summers is arriving with the blue wooden box for the lottery. Tesse rudely interrupts Mr. Summers and says she is late because she had to clean the dishes and forgot what day it was.
  • Its, Not fair, It's not fair!!!
  • well folks, I guess we better get this over with
  • They start taking roles of all the townspeople. After they made sure everyone was there they started drawing cards.

  • Bill Hutcheson picked the black dot, and old man Warner said he had been here for over 70 years and has not been picked.
  • Tesse argues with everyone and people start gathering rocks to throw, but they then have a redrawing of the Hutcheson family.
  • The Hutcheson family redraws cards, once everyone drew their cards Teese had the black dot she was stoned.
