The First Continental Congress was a meeting of delegates from 12 of the 13 British colonies that became the United States.
Were the first military engagements of the American Revolutionary War. It was 70 colonists against about 200 british troops, and finally the 70 colonists won.
In the Second Continental Congress meeting, they tried again for peace by sending the Olive Branch Petition to the King of Britain, and later they issued the Declaration of Independence declaring the United States as an independent country from Britain.
