Hi, my name is Joe. I have lived here my whole life and know the ways. The other man just moved in. There is so much he doesn't understand and he won't listen. Let's watch to see how that works.
He has so many animals! Obviously he has no clue about desertification in the Sahel. Poor man.
Hello there, I thought I should explain to you why having too many animals is a problem. You see here in the Sahel us farmers suffer from Desertification. That is when the desert takes over the Savannah and we live in the border between. With the new guy having so many animals they are all eating away the roots that hold the good soil in place. Soon there won't be any soil left for him to farm.
AFTER SOME TIME
All the good soil is gone. Oh my! How will I have enough food for my family!
Oh yes, I shall try it! I should also be able to spend more money on my farm to improve the irrigation system and make it overall better!
Oh, so sad if only you had listened to me. Maybe try to decrease your herd so they eat less food
Yay! The man's idea worked! I was able to save the remaining fertile soil and by spending more money I got my farm back to normal!
Desertification is a real problem. If you need help finding a solution try asking your neighbors or fellow villagers.
