Main character; she has been going through some life events that she calls her ‘midlife’ crisis.
Rosa: supporting character and ‘best’ friend of the main character.
These events involve the separation and then eventual divorce of her parents.
Nichi does not feel like her friend, Rosa, understands what she is going through and decides not to confide in her.
This sparks up conflict in their friendship and Rosa does not feel that their friendship is the same.
Nichi then makes friends with Marge and Inspiry which Nichi believes can better understand her situation than Rosa, therefore she gets closer to them.
Rosa feels hurt that she and Nichi do not have the same relationship like they used to
Although Nichi feels bad, she needs Rosa to understand that she as a person has changed because of her life events and that she is not the same.
This conflict has been resolved using effective listening skills, assertive communication, and effective questioning skills.
Effective listening was used by both Rosa and Nichi in talking about their friendship.
Effective questioning was used by Rosa in understanding why Nichi doesn’t feel comfortable talking to Rosa about her familial situations and why she acts the way she does.
Assertive communication was used by both Rosa and Nichi in their conversation in finding a solution in their friendship.
The solution they came up with was more time where they just have fun together, and eventually, when Nichi feels comfortable enough, she can come to Rosa for anything.
All four characters end up the bestest of friends and Nichi feels loved by her new formed friendships.
