- Joan came home from school. She hoped and wished. " please dont let my parents be fighting. please " but nobody heard her pleas.
- While sitting on her bed, she heard her parents fighting. Again. They were yelling. Joan started crying. Her mom screamed and there was a huge crash, and the sound of glass breaking.
- A disturbing idea popped into Joan's head. She was leaving. She packed her bag. She went to her TV, and withdrew all $2,000 from her life savings. All the TV's just spat out your bank money like an ATM.
- As Joan crept out her appartment window, she thought about how she was tired of the drama. And how she doubted they would notice her absence. They never even so much as looked at her when she left for school everyday, or acknowledged her when she said, "bye, love you"
- As Joan walked the streets of the city, she let her mind wander.
- As she walked she thought about the times she'd come home to destruction and a parent sobbing on the floor. She promised herself she would NEVER go back there.
