Wolves!"The wolves were coming at and made it to them and stopped. Neither man breathed as what would seem as the lead wolf came and caught their sent. The wolf backed away, sat down and stared thoughtfully.
What business would men have in the forest on a night such as this?" the wolf asked. The voice was rougher than a human's but was undoubtedly female.A different wolf, male this time, said angrily, "You have no business here; this night is not for hunting. Leave!" Several of the other wolves seemed to agree.Ulrich answered, "We are not able to leave. We are trapped and are injured."
Why?" Georg asked.
"So it would seem," said the lead wolf. "If we help you, you men will have to leave the forest and won't come back at night for any reason."
Suddenly out of the forest walked a group of unnaturally beautiful creatures. They seemed to be a mix between wolves and men. Leading them was the most beautiful woman either of the men had ever seen."I guess we wait for our men to come and get us," Ulrich answered."Yes and I assume you did as well!" Georg answered. "What do now that they left and we are still stuck?"…………Did you just see a pack of wolves in which were two talking wolves?" Ulrich asked Georg hesitantly, wondering if he was going crazy or hallucinating.
You will also never speak of us to anyone, for if you do, you will die a very slow and painful death," the lead wolf said, with a somewhat grim look on her canine face. After both men agreed, the wolves left. Both men were left stunned.
Ulrich woke up to a slap to the face; he blinked his eyes open and lay there staring into Georg's face.
You promised," said the woman in the same voice as lead wolf from before. She nodded to her men, and they all moved to clear the debris off the men. Once that was done, the woman walked to stand in front of the two men, and said, "When you wake up, leave this place and do as you promised."Before either could argue she laid her hands on both their heads and everything blacked out.
They never again visited the forest at night and the creatures were never seen again. But some nights looking out the window, there could be seen eyes flashing in the darkness, and they knew they were being watched.
What happened?" he asked groggily."I'm not sure, what do you remember from last night?" replied Georg."The Wolves," said Ulrich in bewilderment. "Or was it a dream?" He wasn't sure."I remember the wolves, too," said Georg, "I was making sure I wasn't hallucinating."They both got up and discovered they were completely healed. They found their rifles smashed and irreparable. They decided to head to their own houses until morning and make their announcement of the feud being over.
