Storyboard Text

  • At the age of 13, young Joan started hearing the voices of saints that told her she needed to help get the dauphin, Charles, on the throne and free France from the English
  • Dear Lord..........
  • When Joan was 17, she set out to find Charles, It was very dangerous for a woman to travel alone during these times so she cut her hair, and she dressed like a boy. Charles disguised himself as a commoner and had another man pretend to be the dauphin, Joan was not fooled and easily brought him out of the crowd.
  • I am sent from god to save france
  • Joan's first challenge was to free the city of Orleans from the English power, Three days into battle she was shot in shoulder, wincing she pulled out the arrow, and continued fighting, it was said to be a miracle to have kept fighting, and Charles was claimed king.
  • Now that the french didn't have a king, Joan's army got smaller and she wasn't needed, while the king had 6,000 warriors, Joan only had 300. Joan still attacked a city and was forced to retreat. On her way back into her own city she was closed out and captured but the Burgundian people, Charles did nothing to help her out but the English payed a great ransom to get her,
  • Please Help
  • In the power of the English, Joan was put on trial for witchcraft. Joan begged and pleaded that she wasn't and that she was really sent from god. The church still didn't believe her and made her sign a paper admitting to being a witch.
  • I didn't do anything!!
  • Joan took back the paper and stayed true to her beliefs, she admitted that the reason she signed that paper was for fear of the fire.  Joan was burned at the steak for witchcraft and was later claimed as a legend, She was made a saint by the church.
