  • Salt Miners in Northern Africa had very difficult jobs. They would work all day in difficult conditions.
  • Traders took the difficult journey across the Sahara desert to trade what they had and bring exotic goods to their civilizations. 
  • Even when they spoke different languages, they would trade by leaving their goods in a decided area, and have others switch them out for what they desired.
  • The people from above the Sahara Desert would deliver their salt to civilizations like Ghana who desired it in exchange for gold, and the other way around.
