The biggest ship ever made was said to be unsinkable. On April 14, it set out on its Maiden Voyage from South Hampton headed to New York.
There were 2,224 people on the Titanic, including George and his family. They came to see the mummy, who was really just a cat named, Princess.

The boat hit the iceberg and sinks in 160 minutes. People escaped using life boats. There were only 20 life boats.
George and his family were able to survive by being on the life boat. There were only 706 survivors out of the 2,229 people on board.
The Titanic wreckage was found by Robert Ballard many years later 2.5 miles under the surface of the ocean.
