After years on the farm, Tex finally see the chance to get away from his boring and monotonous life. An extremely dangerous and growing fire has started on the plains in California and Tex feels as if it is his responsibility to help put it out.

As soon as Tex gets to the fires in California he is met by the head of the fire department, Mickey. Mickey volunteers to personally train Tex so that he can be effective out in the field. After three grueling days of training Mickey believes that Tex is ready to take on the fire!

Tex got separated from his squadron because of the thick smoke and panic. The rest of his squad gets trapped in a ring of fire and it looks as if there is no hope for anyone.
Tex found a water source and used the special expandable hose Mickey gave him to extinguish the fire and save his squad! Together, they put out the rest of the fire and saved California! As a gift Tex was presented with a million dollars and made famous!
Tex returns home to be greeted by his neighbors and friends. As a renowned hero all the kids look up to him and admire him. After the experience, Tex realizes that his quiet little farm isn't so bad after all. Besides he can buy a lot of cattle to keep him entertained with his million dollars!
