This storyboard does not have a description.
Dr.Campbell owned lot 189 in the parish of Takapuna
that was given to him in early 1864.
Dr.Campbell split the land up after he realised there was no coal in
the area now known as Browns Bay.
The first people to buy Browns Bay were the Stratford family
who then sold it to Mrs. Hammond
He origonally built his house on the corner of Anzac and Clyde road
but it was soon demolished by a fire in 1930.
He also built a managers resedence in 1886 at 33 Glencoe rd.
Believe it or not, this house still exists.
When Peter Brown & his family moved to browns bay shelter was
needed so trees were planted along the beach.
