Storyboard Text

  • Did you hear there is going to be a solar eclipse today honey?
  • Yea I heard, I am so excited!
  • Sis, what's a solar eclipse
  • A solar eclipse is the blocking of sunlight from the Earth. The moon covers the sun and since the moon is much closer to Earth than the sun is, we see the sky appear dark and it looks like night time! However you must be in the umbra, or in the shadow that the moon is casting on Earth to see a total solar eclipse.
  • wow wow!
  • Girls! Come here the eclipse is going to happen soon! DON'T FORGET YOUR ECLIPSE GLASSES!
  • That's so cool!
  • I know right!
  • Oh ok...
  • Why do we have to wear glasses?
  • Because honey if you don't your eyes will burn and you will become blind from the sun's rays since it is still behind the moon
  • YAY!
  • It's already over?
  • But don't worry there will be another one in 2024
  • This family is too silly!
  • Yup, solar eclipses only lasts a few minutes
