Storyboard Text

  • Brandon just got to the airport and is going on a vacation to Mexico. Before he can get on the plane, he must go through security.
  •  He is just so excited about his trip that he didn't read the signs!
  • Alarm will occur if you have any of these things with you
  • Empty pockets!
  • Take all liquids out
  • A beeping noise went off that started to annoy Brandon. He couldn't figure out what is is
  • Brandon realized he had not read the signs and noticed his key was in his pocket. In order to stop the annoying noise, Brandon gave the key to the officer as he went through security again. . .This time no beeping occurred
  • Brandon now knows that in the future he will read the signs and empty his pockets before going through security in order to avoid hearing the annoying beep.
  •  In the future, Brandon will now read the signs and empty his pockets before going through security in order to avoid being punished for his behavior. Even though the beeping annoyed Brandon, this is not a form of punishment. This is because negative reinforcement increases the chances of a response happening, he learned from his lesson and will empty his pockets in the future. Punishment, on the other hand, decreases the chance that the response will occur again.
