  • How Walt Disney World Got Its Name
  • Walt Disney was born in the year of 1901, little did the world know what this amazing man would do
  • Walt was a pretty artistic kid, and he had come up with the mouse we all know and love, Mickey Mouse. Mickey was created in 1928, but he went through dramatic changes in looks!
  • The creation of Mickey inspired Walt to draw more, and that resulted in the fab 6, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, and Daisy. Although Daisy isn't featured as much as the other characters, she's still one of Disney's first creations
  • Fun Fact!: Mickey Mouse was NOT the first critter Walt Disney designed. His first creation was Oswald the Lucky Rabbit! Although the name may not sound familiar, I'm sure when you look at pictures, you'll recognize him
  • Walt's idea of Disney started in the 1950's, seeing as the first location of "Disneyland" opened in 1955
  • Disney had started thinking of another Disney location, what would be the Disney World resort, in the early 1960's, but his vision wasn't limited to recreating a "Disneyland East"
  • Seeing as his last name was fun, and had a nice jingle to it, he decided to name his creation after him!
