Storyboard Text

  • Indirect Characterization
  • You don't believe in me?
  • Theme
  • You are about to show me shadows of the things that have not happened, but will happen in the time before us. Is that so, Spirit?
  • Symbolism
  • It is required of every man that the spirit within him should walk abroad among his fellowmen, and travel far and wide; and if that spirit goes not forth in life, it is condemned to do so after death. It is doomed to wander through the world -- oh, woe is me! -- and witness what it cannot share, but might have shared on earth, and turned to happiness!
  • Jacob Marley comes back to Scrooge as a ghost, but Scrooge is doubtful of this and doesn't believe it really is Jacob at first.
  • Internal Conflict
  • The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come visits Scrooge and shows him his own death. This changes Scrooge and makes him want to become a better person.
  • Symbolism
  • I am the ghost of Christmas present.
  • Jacob Marley's chains show that he was tied down by his choices in life.
  • Indirect Characterization
  • If they would rather die, they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population.
  • Tiny Tim struggles with his disability to walk and tries to keep his family happy, but it can be challenging.
  • God bless us, everyone!
  • The Ghost of Christmas Present is a big, jolly, happy man and shows Scrooge the happiness of Christmas.
  • Scrooge yells at the carolers that come to his workhouse which shows how mean and bitter he truly is.
