  • Darling, I got you an invitation to an affair!
  • Madame Loisel feels like she is meant to be in a better class than what she is in. She feels like she's better than everyone else.
  • Development
  • Dear, I lost the necklace!
  • Mme. Loisel wanted to be elegant and have expensive clothes and items that made her feel rich. Her husband one day came home from work and told his wife that he got an invitation to a ball. She wanted tot go but she needed a new dress and a fancy necklace.
  • Climax
  • Why did I have to lose that necklace... It costed us everything...
  • Man vs. Man: Mme. Loisel was invited to a very elegant ball. She wanted to be noticed and to have a lot of attention so she asked her friend if she could borrow a diamond necklace. Her friend let her borrow it and said be careful.
  • Outcome/Resolution
  • It was fake, hun!
  • As their night came to an end, they got into the house and as Mme. Loisel reached for her necklace, it wasn't any where to be found. They looked high and low and came to the conclusion that it was lost. They spent everything they had trying to find it.
  • They spent ten years trying to recuperate from the 35,000 francs they used to buy the real diamond necklace.
  • On the street one day, Madame Loisel sees the friend that lent her the necklace and starts telling her how she payed 35,000 francs for a diamond necklace when in reality, the necklace was fake.
  • IT WAS 35,000 FRANCS
