Characterization protagonist Jacob Portman- A 16-year-old boy who doesn't have many friends and can see monsters. Miss Peregrine- Miss Peregrine runs the home for peculiar children and takes care o the children in it. Miss p is an ymbryne, which means that she can turn into a bird. Emma Bloom- Emma lives in Miss Peregrine's home. she can make fire with just her hands and looks 16 because she has stopped aging in 1940
Imagery Jacob takes in every aspect of the abandoned house on his first trip there, shocked by how old and decrepit it is, how different from his grandfather's stories. The text is rich in detail as he moves through the house and observes all the evidence of the children who once lived here, now long gone.
Theme Jacobs grandfather, which initiates Jacobs central attempt to find the meaning in the mysterious home. The idea of the death or cheating death also appears in Enoch's skill with raising the dead as well as the wights and the hollows' search for immortality.
