Egeus requests his daughter be sentenced to death for refusing marriage with Demetrius. Theseus gives her the option of life in a nunnery, death, or marriage, but Hermia insists on her love for Lysander. They plan to run away together.
Ordered by the fairy king, Puck puts a love spell on the Athenian man, but it's the wrong person. Awoken by Helena, Lysander falls madly in love with her.
Realizing his mistake, Puck attempts to fix the situation. Putting Demetrius under the spell, both men are in love with Helena. Puck then sends a fog over the forest to tire them out and place the antidote on Lysander to mend the situation.
