Sam went home and told his Mom about his symptoms. Sam's Mom was worried and decided to take him to the doctor.
The doctor told Sam and his Mom about the results he had received from the genetic testing and bronchoscopy. The diagnosis the doctor gave Sam was that he had Cystic Fibrosis. The doctor explained that the Cystic Fibrosis was congenital or been present in Sam's body since birth.
The doctor informed them that Cystic Fibrosis can be is very dangerous because it causes a build up of mucus in the lungs. The doctor explained that it needed to be treated right in order to avoid complications. He explained that it is autosomal successive and also a hereditary disease.
The doctor told it was chronic and said Sam was tough for fighting it for so long. He reassured Sam and his Mom that there are treatments like an antibiotic or ibuprofen to help with things such as lung infections, swelling, coughing, and relieving pain.
