Storyboard Text

  • How far is it? What about my family? Will something happen? Don't go!
  • Uhh...yea sure.
  • Do you want to come with me to Argentina?
  • I feel that you could be really good at graduate school. Teaching is more important than becoming a writer.
  • Should I become a teacher?
  • Wow. I don't feel that scared.
  • The main character James was given the opportunity, by his friend Ted, to work on aranch in Argentina during the summer. James agreed to it at first but he started to have second thoughts about this trip and had to turn it down.
  • You can do it! Don't worry, just jump in.
  • Dad, I can't do this.
  • After he declined the offer, he felt miserable that he said no. But, when it was his senior year, he decided that he wanted to become a professional writer but his teacher wanted him to become a teacher when James doesn't want to be one.
  • Yeah. I'm fine/
  • Are you okay?
  • He went with professional writing and his first story was about Duke Ellington and how he also had too much anxiety but still maintained his composure when performing. This gave him the confidence because when he was in a meeting in D.C, he didn't have as much butterflies.
  • Ever since his coworkers seen his confidence blew up, he started to teach his son how to learn to swim and ride a bike. His son was hesisted at first, but, he started to make me feel better about himself and he conquered this.
  • After his son passed his obstacles, James still have to conquer his fear: travelling outside the country. He had another assignment in Europe and he had stay there for three months and, at first, he was scared but overtime he felt better about everything.
  • When he came back after his three month trip in Europe, he finally have the confidence to do everything. From parachute jumps to learning how to ski, he's much had a improvement than from the beginning of the story.
