Storyboard Text

  • The Arrest
  • The Bail Hearing
  • Bail will be set at $75,000
  • The Arraignment
  • Goldilocks is being charged with 1st degree burglary and property damage. Her trial will be February 17th.
  • Goldilocks is getting arrested by the police for 1st degree burglary because she was caught with a knife inside Mr. and Mrs. Bear's house.
  • The Trial
  • Defendant
  • DISTRICT COURT
  • Prosecutor
  • Goldilocks is at the bail hearing and the judge is setting bail at $75,000.
  • The Appeal
  • Circuit Court
  • Goldilocks is being charged with 1st degree burglary and property damage under $1,000. The probable cause was that Goldilocks was found inside the home; there was also chairs broken and 6 expensive paintings of the Bears were in a bag Goldilocks had.
  • The Outcome
  • Goldilocks was found with a knife inside the Bear's residence at 1:30 pm on January the 23rd. She is guilty and is charged with 1st degree burglary and owes $15,000 and is sentenced to 80 years in prison.
  • The reason for appeal is that Goldilocks was sentenced to 80 years in prison which violates her 8th amendment right which is that there is no cruel or unusual punishment. The circuit court overturns the district court's ruling and now, Goldilocks only has 25 years in prison. 80 years is way too much for burglary.
  • Goldilocks is sentenced to 25 years instead of the 80 years sentenced by the district court. She has learned her lesson.
