Joan Of Arc was a 13 year old peasant girl from France who led a normal life and she frequently prayed to god. One day she got a message from the saints that told her to drive the English out of France.
God is that you?
Joan still needed insurance that she would make it to the king so she went to the commander of a nearby fort and asked for soldiers. At first the commander merely laughed but soon later Joan convinced him.
After Joan had heard the voices of the saints she knew she had to complete her mission but, because it was dangerous to travel alone as a woman, she cut her hair and dressed as a man and set out on her quest.
Can I have some soldiers?
During the battle Joan was struck with an arrow into her shoulder but instead of retreating, Joan pulled the arrow out and charged back into battle.
Charles the dauphin believes that Joan was a gift from god to help save France so he immediately sent her on another mission. Joan's new mission was to free Orleans from English control, so Joan led the French troops into battle against the English.

In the May of 1430 Joan and her army were preparing for another battle. Burgundy's army of 6,000 soldiers were going to attack the french city of Compiègne. Joan only had about 300 soldiers and they were going up against 6,000 soldiers. The French lost that battle and Joan was captured.
After Joan was captured she was revealed a woman and tried for witch craft and 70 more accusations. Joan boldly stood and denied the accusations and said that god had told her to do these things. She signed a confession but a few days later she took it back.
On May 30, 1431 in Roen, 19 year-old Joan of Arc was burned at the stake in front of a huge crowd for her crimes. In 1455 Joan's family opened up the case back up and she was found innocent of all charges. In 1920 she was declared a catholic saint for what she did for France. Today Saint Joan is a beloved french hero.
