  • 1. Winn-Dixie, Winn-Dixie! Where are you Winn-Dixie? We have got to go look for Winn-Dixie.
  • 2. “Daddy. Daddy. What if he gets run over?” Said Opal. (Page 162) I don’t want him to go.
  • 4. He has a pathological fear of thunderstorms, he can’t be outside today.
  • 3. ”We can’t worry about what might have happened. All we can do is keep looking.” Said the Preacher. (Page 162)
  • 6. “But Daddy, Winn-Dixie’s out there somewhere. We can’t leave him.” Said Opal. (Page 163)
  • 8. Please we need to keep searching, it is my fault that Winn-Dixie is lost. I didn’t watch him responsibly.
  • 7. Opal, we have looked and looked, and there’s only so much looking we can do. Don’t Argue, Said the Preaccher. (Page 163)
  • 5. We have to quit searching for Winn-Dixie, we have been searching for him all day long now.

  • 14. “I bet you didn’t even go out looking for my mama when she left. I bet you just let her run off, too.” Said Opal. (Page 165)

  • 17. “And don’t believe that losing Winn-Dixie doesn’t upset me as much ass it does you.” Said the Preacher. (Page 166)
  • 15. “Baby, I couldn’t stop her. I tried. Don’t you think I wanted her to stay, too.” Said the Preacher. (Page 165)

  • 25. “When I told you your mama took everything with her, I forgot one thing, one very important thing that she left behind. You.” Said the Preacher. (Page 167)
