  • Jacob and his followers moved from Canaan to Egypt because Canaan had fell into a terrible famine and Egypt had a giant surplus of grain. Jacob ventures on an expedition to Egypt. When the Israelites make it to Egypt they greet the Pharaoh, he dislikes them because they believe in monotheism, unlike the Egyptians who believe in polytheism. The pharaoh forces the Israelites to become slaves.
  • We're free!
  • Moses was an Israelite who lived in the pharaoh's palace while he saw his fellow Israelites be constantly tortured. God instructed Moses to free the Jewish people from the pharaoh's rule. Moses decides to fulfill his covenant with god by asking the Pharaoh.
  • Here, take this
  • Oh, hello God
  • The pharaoh foolishly denied Moses's request. This led to the punishments of God. God punished the Egyptians with ten plagues, such as frogs, gnats , and swarms of locusts. Passover is the celebration of the liberation of Jacob's descendants. One of the main events of Passover is the killing of the first born son of Egyptians. The Angel of Death supposedly told the Jews to mark their doors with lambs blood, so their sons wouldn't be killed.
  • The pharaoh was terrified after Passover, because he thought the Jews had great power. He demanded the Israelites be exiled from Egypt. The Israelites gladly left the Pharaoh's rule and lived led by Moses. Moses led the Israelites to Mount Sinai when he lead the Jews.
  • Moses encounters god at Mount Sinai and receives the ten commandments. These ten commandment's purpose was to explain the Israelite's ethical behavior and morals.
  • After the death of Moses, the Israelites needed a new leader. They found a leader named Joshua. Joshua lead the Israelites back to Canaan. Once they made it to Canaan they saw it was ruled by the Jerichos. They had no choice but to conquer them. Eventually they had taken Canaan back from the Jerichos. The Jews went on to conquer several more temple. All of the relatives of Jacob had finally found a home.
