On his travels, Oedipus kills a man who blocks his path. This man happens to be his father, Laius.
The God commanded clearly; let some one punish with force this dead man's murderers.
Hark to me; what I say to you, I say as one that is a stranger to the story as stranger to the deed.
Upon the murderer I invoke this curse- whether he is one man and all unknown or one of many- may he wear out his life
I say you are the murderer of the king who's murderer you seek!
A deadly footed, double striking curse, from father and mother both, shall drive you forth out of this land, with darkness on your eyes, that now have such straight vision.
