Once upon a time in ancient Mesopotamia, there was a city called Uruk. Within the city lived the king Gilgamesh.
Gilgamesh was two parts god from his mom, who passed down strength, courage, and good looks, and one part man from his dad which made him human so one day he would die
Gilgamesh was known all around as an amazing builder of temples but he did not actually build them, he forced others to.
When Gilgamesh was bored, he had fights with the people of Uruk. He always won because he was so strong.
The people prayed to the gods to send someone who could beat Gilgamesh in a fight so they didn’t have to build walls for him anymore.
The gods answered their prayers and made Enkidu, a ape-like man with hair all over his body. He lived in the desert and slept with the animals.
