  • Miep and Mr. Frank are sitting on the top floor of the warehouse. Meip does not know but Mr. Frank is planning on leaving Amsterdam.
  • "You can't leave , this is your home."
  • "Before you go I have Anne's Diary for you."
  • " Are you ok, Mr. Frank"
  • "I must, It has too many memories for me."
  • "Yes,  but I have come to say goodbye."
  • Everyone else is just in the annex getting ready to meet each other.
  • Miep gives Mr.Frank Anne's diary. He starts to read and drifts off to the annex where Anne is writing in her diary...
  • "Hello, this is my wife Edith, the Van Daan's, their son Peter and my daughters, Margot and Anne."
  • "Hi my name is Mr. Kraler."
  • Later that night, Peter introduces Anne into his cat, Mouschi.
  • Anne and Peter talked for quite a while before Mr. Frank came in to find a bed for Mouschi.
  • "Mouschi."
  • "He's a tom. He doesn't like strangers."
  • "Mouschi! Mouschi! Mouschi! I love cats. I have one, but I had to leave it behind."
  • "So what is your cat's name?"
  • After Mr. Frank finds a bed for Peter's cat, he takes Anne to the living room to give her a present.
  • Anne wanted to start writing immediately, but she needed a pencil which was down stairs, at that moment Anne finally realized what "Going into hiding" meant.
  • "Anne, there's a box there. Will you open it?"
  • "There's something more. Go on. Look further."
  • "My movie stars! I was wondering where they were, how wonderful!"
  • "A diary, thank you!"
  • Peter interrupts.
  • "I...I...I thought I'd better get some water for Mouschi before..."
  • "It'll be hard, I know. But remember this, There are no walls there are no bolts, no locks that anyone can put on your mind."
  • "Of course."
  • Mr. Frank gives Anne a pen and she starts to write in her diary.
  • "I expect I should be describing what it feels like to go into hiding. But I don't really know myself. I only know it's funny never to be able to go outdoors..."
