Chapter 12 (Scylla and Charybdis) Scylla and Charybdis were monsters who lived under two rocks in the ocean. You have to drive a boat directly between the rocks, or else you will be dead in an instant. Ulysses steered the boat directly through the rocks, and sailed to Catle of the Sun island.
Chapter 13 (Cattle of the Sun) Ulysses told the crew of his ship that they could eat anything on this island except the cows. They were stuck on the island for 30 days, and were to the point of starving. The crew decided to kill six cows while Ulysses was sleeping, and tricked Ulysses to eat one when he woke up by saying it was a stag. Ulysses found out, and sailed the boat away from the island. The whole crew died except for Ulysses, who was left stranded on a raft.
Chapter 14 (Calypso) Ulysses woke up on an island with a woman who wanted to marry him. He told her he had a wife at home, but she said if he stayed with her, he could be immortal. Choice against choice, decisions rumbled through Ulysses's head. He resisted , and sailed home.
Chapter 15 (Ino's Veil) With Calypso's permission, Ulysses sailed away. Posiden saw his boat though. He moved with an unforgiving, angry rhythm, like someone with a huge grudge. He destroyed Ulysses boat, and left him stranded. A naiad nearby hated Posiden though, and offered to give Ulysses her veil, which allowed him to breath under water. He took it, and swam ashore to a pile of reeds, and went to sleep.
Chapter 16 (Nausicaa) Ulysses was found in the reeds by a girl named Nausicaa, who was wondering whether or not to marry him. She decided against it because a fortune teller told her he was cursed by the gods. He then proceeded to sail back home to Ithaca.
Chapter 17 (The Return) In the past 11 years, Ulysses has fought a cyclops, lost a crew and a fleet of ships, and ventured to the Land of the Dead. Today, he will reunite with his family.
