Judas, one of Jesus's followers betrayed Jesus and for gold helped the guards arrest Jesus while at Gethsemane to pray for the last time. The next day Jesus was made to wear a crown of thorns, he also had to carry his cross up Golgotha the hill were they would kill him. On the way he fell three times and finally they made a man called Simon to help him up the hill. Once he was there he was crucified unfairly then stripped of his cloths and put in a tomb.
3 day's later the women who cared for jesus dead body were making there way into the tomb but Jesus was nowhere to be seen. A moment later Jesus appeared out of then air and addressed the women, go now and tell my disciples I have risen, and with that they took of for the disciples.
10 more days past and the disciples had seen and prayed with Jesus many times. Jesus had called them to Bethany a village on the Mount of Olives were he instructs them to remain in Jerusalem until the coming of the Holy Spirit and then before them he was carried up from a spot of light and into the gates of heaven
For 40 days the 11 apostles had prayed and prayed but the Holy Spirit had not come. The disciples on a daily routine were in the house in which they lived when a huge gust of wind battered the room and when the apostles looked at each other they saw flame's like tongues of fire above each one's head and each of them spoke there own foreign language. This was the day, this was the power of the Holy Spirit.
After the witness of the power of the Holy Spirit the apostles suddenly had the courage to go out and spread the word of God. Most of the crowds were at awe but some mocked them and said they were drunk. Just then Peter got up and preached to the crowd and explained the reason for this happening he said that the man they had killed was the messiah and the son of God at his words the people begged at how they could fix the wrong they had done and Peter said go, go and get baptized and wash yourself of your sins.
After Peter had preached people went down to Jordan River and the disciples baptized over 3000 people that promised to spread the word of God. That was the start of the christian church, the church itself was the people of God not a building.
