Storyboard Text

  • Off to Kill the Monster, the Horrible Monster of Denmark
  • Hail Hrothgar!
  • Off with his Arm!
  • I am Beowulf!
  • Off with her Head!
  • With all the strength he had left, caught her in the neck and cut it through.
  • A demon, Grendel, terrorizes the Danes for 12 years. Beowulf hears and sails, along with a group of Geatish warriors,  across the sea to the land of the Danes to fight Grendel.
  • Going up in Flames
  • By almighty God, I'd rather burn myself than see flames swirling around my lord
  • After luring Grendel into Herot Hall, Beowulf meets him in hand-to-hand combat. Beowulf tears Grendel's arm from his socket, mortally wounding the monster.
  • I'm Dying, Have a Necklace.
  • Defending the Geats from the rage of Grendel's mother, Beowulf tracks Grendel's mother to her lair in a cave under a lake and decapitates her with a massive, magic sword he finds there.
  • Off into the Sunset
  • 50 years later, a thief stole treasure from a dragon. Defending the people, Beowulf tracks the dragon to its lair and fights it with the help of his follower, Wiglaf.
  • After being mortally injured, Beowulf has Wiglaf kill the dragon and bring him the treasure. Having gazed on the treasure and given his golden necklace to Wiglaf, Beowulf dies.
  • You're the last of our far-flung family.
  • Wiglaf brings back Beowulf's body where Beowulf's body is burned on a funeral pyre by his people and a barrow is built on the site to honor him.
  • They place his ashes, along with all of the dragon's treasure, in a huge burial mound by the sea, where it can be seen by voyagers.
