This child brings change. Not good for you nor your riches.
Upon the birth of his first child, powerful noble Kari Ignmar is told that she would usurp his power to help the poor. He wanted to get rid of this threat and ordered to abandon his daughter. Unbeknownst to him, one of his workers, Hilda, kept her.
Must we fight?
The child, Audhild, was raised by Hilda and became known for her sharp wit and bravery. People jested the warrior's only weakness was the overwhelming desire to protect others, especially her childhood friend, Selje.
Hilda decides to tell Audhild of her foretold fate and that spilling her own blood will spill that of the covenant. Audhild decides not to worry about the last part and prepares to confront her father alone.
Audhild confronts her father, hoping for a peaceful solution. Unsurprisingly, he refuses to give up his power and wants to settle things with a physical battle. After he is bested, he attempts to take his life and is yet again stopped by Audhild, receiving a minor injury to her arm in the process.
There no other solution.
That minor injury was the only thing to remember the scuffle by. Kari was to be banished. However, as he fled, he stopped to see the person Audhild holds closest to her heart.
Audhid returns to find her best friend dead. She knows precisely who did the awful deed. She is extremely distraught over the fact that she did everything possible to ensure the people's safety but didn't take into account her father's own possible actions.
