Ahhh! What are you doing to me?
The drunk Fortunato goes into the hole where he is unexpectedly chained up by Montresor.
Fortunato is still asking about the Amontillado as Montresor brings in mortar and stones.
Rest in peace.
Once Montresor starts building the wall, Fortunato sobers up and starts screaming while Montresor mocks him.
1.) He wanted tell a story. 2.) If you mistreat other people, it may catch up with you. 3.) First-person narrative. 4.) Use of formal language ie. immurement and niche. 5.) Unreliable narrator - The man telling the story is crazy.
Fortunato stops responding so Montresor throws a torch into the unfinished top of the wall and determines that Fortunato can no longer respond.
In the end of the story, Montresor explains that these events happened 50 years ago.
