Storyboard Text

  • hello, I'm Charles Darwin. The one who came up with the theory of Natural Selection
  • Natural Selection is the theory that explains how life changes over time.
  • I came up with 4 key concepts of Natural Selection, that helped prove my theory.
  • 4 key concepts: 1. Genetic variation 2. Over production 3. Adaptation 4. Survival of the Fittest
  • Over long period of time, Natural selection produces organisms that have different structures or occumpany different habits. much like the Ape and the Human for example.
  • The first concept is Genetic variation, which is when new genotypes occur by mutation, which acts on phenotypes.
  • The next key concept of Natural Selection is Over Production which I took from Thomas Mathus' theory and applied it to plants and animals.
  • The concept of over production is that the population will grow until they ran out of resources.
  • The third key concept of Natural Selection is Adaptation.
  • Adaptation is any inherited characteristic that increases an organisms chance for survival, such as how this bug adapted to its environment, thats why its green
  • The final concept is Survival of the fittest, which is when randomm mutations lead to an advantage to an organism to survive and reproduce.
  • The green bug is better fit to survive because his green color blends with the grass while the red bug stands out and is less likely to survive.
