Guy Montag lives in a Dystopian society. He seems to enjoy his job as a firefighter who burns books. Montag lives with his wife, Mildred, who doesn't think and spends all her time watching TV in the parlor.
Meeting the Mentor
Montag meets a girl named Clarrise. He introduces him to things he's never notice before and teaches him things he thought he'd never learn.
Crossing the Threshold
Beatty tries to persuade Guy to come back to "reality." This makes Montag think over what Clarrise had taught him and told him the past weeks.
The Road of Trials/Tests, Allies, and Enemies
Montag remembers a man that he met in the park a while ago, who he spoke to and found out was a professor. He goes to acquire knowledge from the man, Faber, hoping he will help.
Montag sees the woman burn in her house and he takes a book from the inside before all the books burn. He realizes that he wants to read and learn and stop being a fireman.
Beatty is now changing his relationship with Montag, and devoted to fixing Montag's opinion about thinking and life in general.
