Storyboard Text

  • Just a little more...
  • No thanks. I'll walk.
  • Do you want a ride back?
  • This is the letter B....
  • This scene shows perseverance, as Stanley tried to push through digging his first hole. Despite the fact he was beginning to bleed, and was in tremendous pain, he kept going.
  • Where are you, Hector?
  • After Stanley dug his first hole, Mr. Pendanski came over to congratulate him. He also offered Stanley a ride, but to his surprise, he refused.
  • Yes!! I finally found the shovel!
  • Stanley continued to teach Zero how to read and write, even though he was still a little exhausted, and had to put up with the other boys' constant teasing and questioning.
  • HELP.
  • Stanley forced himself to continue running, just to find Zero. And although they didn't even know each other that well, he was determined to find him.
  • Stanley carried Zero all the way up the mountain, and if that wasn't enough, he went all the way back to retrieve the shovel and the jars of water.
  • The two boys sat completely still for seemingly forever, just to not get bitten by the lizards. This requires not only determination, but bravery and patience.
