  • Nighttime
  • Money
  • The practice of representing things by symbols, or of investing things with a symbolic meaning or character.

  • In the Nighttime many significant events occur at night such as pledging their love and killing themselves. It represents where they can let go of their ambitions and be free of public criticism.
  • Age vs. Youth
  • Money represents the greed in man,and how money can be more poisonous than poison itself.
  • Good vs. Evil
  • Poison symbolizes human society’s tendency to poison good things and make them fatal, just as the pointless Capulet-Montague feud turns Romeo and Juliet’s love to poison. It also represents the Capulet and Montague feud.
  • Friar Lawrence represents wisdom with age and Romeo represents the impulse decisions that youth make.
  • Tybalt represents an evil in man because of his actions and tedious actions. Benvolio represents the good in man and the "good will" few people have.
