  • Can you explain perfect squares to me, I have a test coming up, and I don't really know what they are.
  • Ofcourse I will explain what perfect squares are. But first let's take a walk.
  • I don't really get it. Can you give me some examples?
  • So a perfect square is a number made by squaring a whole number.
  • So what about 8, is 8 a perfect square?
  • Yes I can give you an example maybe that will help.
  • 16 is a perfect square because expressed as 4x4.
  • Well 8 can't be a perfect square because you can't express it as two equal integers.
  • Oh I get it, so 9 is a perfect square because it's expressed as 3x3, and 3x3 are two equal integers.
  • Their you go you got it. Can you give me another one?
  • Yup, 25 because it can be expressed as 5x5.
  • Thank you for helping me with my perfect squares.
  • No problem.
