In 17 June 1704, a baby named john Kay was born in Walmasry, bury, Lancachire, England. His father, Robert Kay died before John Kay was born.
He apprenticed with a hand loom maker, but then said to have returned home within a month claiming that he has mastered the business, he designed a metal substitute for the natural reed that is popular enough to sell through out England.
on 1733, he got the first glimpse of the idea for the machine "the wheeled shuttle", this machine greatly increased the process of weaving. Others like to use the name "fly shuttle" better, so then they changed the name to "flying shuttle"
By July 1733, kay formed a partnership in Colchester, Essex to start producing the flying shuttles.
His product is a success, his fame grew time by time with his flying shuttle. he became the local hero of Bury.
