  • Causes of the Great Depression
  • Rugged Individualism
  • Hoovervilles
  • There are a few reasons that the Depression started. The stock market crash, the banks shutting down, reduction in purchasing across the the board, the economic policy with Europe, and drought conditions. All of these events ultimately lead to the Great depression. The stock market crash was most important because it was the immediate cause.
  • The New Deal
  • Rugged individualism is the believe that people can live life with little to no government. Hoover feared the use of too much government be cause he was a Republican was wanted minimal government.
  • 2nd Bill of Rights
  • Bill of Rights V 2
  • Hoovervilles where shantytowns found the the outskirts or large cities built be the unemployed. Living conditions were poor with little food and disease. Citizens blamed Hebert Hoover for the creation of the Hoovervilles.
  • New Deal; Success or Failure?
  • The New Deal was a series of programs and projects to help Americans in prosperity during the great depression. The New Deal was created by Franklin D. Roosevelt very shortly after he entered office.
  • The Second Bill of Rights was a list of rights created by FDR. The rights included rights to a guaranteed, job, house, food, and to be protected when sick or at old age. I disagree because if everyone is given these items than no one will work and there will be no productivity.
  • I believe that the New Deal was ultimately a failure. If failed at its task of completely saving Americans from poverty. I feel that the New Deal is overrated and the real reason that the Depression was ended was World War II
