Kesha is going to pick her daughter up from work. On the way there she noticed a streetlight and decided to measure the distance from the top of her car to the streetlight that is 10 ft. She started to wonder what the angle of elevation from the top of her car and the streetlight. She uses tan-1(10/12). The angle of elevation is 39.8 degrees.
Her daughter finally comes out and they went to get some food
After kesha and her daughter found a cafe to get something to eat, she wonders how far apart her and the cashier. She notices his feet are at a 50-degree angle and the distance between his feet and nose are 8 ft. She uses sin to calculate how far apart their feet are. Sin50=x/8 which resulted in a 6.128 ft gap between them.
They finally get to their apartment. She noticed the square truss with a base of 10 ft and the angle on top of the roof is 48 degree. She started to wonder what the height of the truss is. She uses tan24=5/x to get 11.23 ft high and her daughter started to wonder how her mom do that.
She explained to her daughter the way she found the height of the roof truss was drawing a line from the top to the base which created two squares. The angle 48/2 = 24 and the base 10/2 = 5.
Now everywhere her daughter goes she always wanna use sin, cos or tan
I wonder whats the distance between the top of my head and my dresser
