  • The 3rd estate thought that since they comprised 98% of the population, they should start their own voting group, to increase their own representation.
  • Get Out
  • The king was scared, so he then barricaded himself with his mercenary Swiss Army Guard, as he didn't trust the French Soldiers anymore. Rumors then went around that he was being taken over by the Swiss
  • 1st and 2nd Estates Link Up
  • We pledge allegiance to the National Assembly...
  • Armed civillians overtook a prison in order to obtain gunpowder and held a rebellion.
  • Declaration of the Rights of Man
  • This led to more rebellions of the 3rd estate where they burned papers which bound them to pay feudal taxes and act as property. The King and Queen were then forced to leave Paris.
  • After the King and Queen left, the 1st and 2nd estate members pledged allegiance to the National Assembly. This action was taken in order to stay safe.

  • The old regime was then over. The Declaration of the Rights of Man declared that all men have equal rights and freedom of speech.
