Storyboard Text

  • Hey, let's go see what those guys are out there pumping from the ground!
  • Okay!
  • Hey sir, what are y'all pumping?
  • Crude Oil
  • May I ask what crude oil is?
  • Crude oil is petroleum that has not been processed.
  • The research says that crude oil that's pumped from the ground is transported to a refinery.
  • Crude OIl
  • How is it transported I wonder?  I think we should ask our World Geography teacher tomorrow so we can fully understand what crude oil is!
  • Sure! A refinery converts the crude oil into useful products.
  • Hey Ms. Nettles.  We've been trying to learn about crude oil.  Can you tell us what a refinery does for the crude oil?
  • Wow!  We'll follow you to the lunch room so we can continue this conversation.
  • How does crude oil get to the refineries?
  • Crude oil travels to either refineries or ports through pipelines.
  • Interesting!
  • The oil doesn't stop there.  After it goes to the ports or refineries, tankers pick it u and move it to places so it could be processed.
  • Thanks Ms. Nettles!
  • Yay!  Now I know all about crude oil now!
