This is an example of the american dream. George and Lennie always talked and dreamed of getting their farm and raising rabbits and Lennie having his dog.
This is an example of loneliness. Curley's wife is lonely because she was going to be a star and her mom threw away her letter, she married Curley and now has no one there for her. Crooks is lonely because he feels like he is still treated like a slave would be.
This is an example of friendship because when Lennie got accused of raping that girl when he grabbed her shirt because it looked so soft in the beginning of the story, George hid in the ditch with him until it was safe to leave and then he left town with him.
This is an example of powerlessness. Curley's wife is an example of powerlessness. Since she is the only woman on the ranch, she is disrespected and not listened to.
