  • The setting of the story functions to create atmosphere. The description of the story such as "Then one time when I was walking in the woods I met him by himself coming back from a hunting trip." This creates what seems to be outside, in the woods, on a trail.

  • The conflict of the story is toward the end of the story when the wife and her family have to kill the husband because he turns into a human at night.
  • Plot
  • "What's that smell?"
  • The P.O.V of the story is first person, which gives us an insight specifically on the wife's thoughts and perspective. We know it 1st person as she said things like my daughter or my husband.EX:''I don't understand it. I don't believe in it.
  • Theme
  • The protag is the wife since the story follows her and is shown from her perspective and the antagonist is the husband as he's the one to transform into a monster. these roles show who to root for and who to not.
  • The plot of the story is the climax when the husband comes home after a long day and is acting strange and the wife notices. When their child is terrified of her own father.
  • "Nothing..."
  • The theme of the story is that things are not always what they seem, change or transformation. Towards the end of story can support the theme when her husband turns into a human, the wife was astonished.
