  • Fort Sumpter was giving tension between the Union and the Confederates. The Confederates wanted he Union to give up the fort but the Union didn't let them selves. So at 4:30 p.m. the confederates set off fires for 33 hours on April 12. 
  • Emancipation Proclamation
  • The battle of Antietam as the bloodiest battle ever in the United States. It happened in Antietam creek in Sharpsburg, Maryland. it happened in September 17, 1862. also it ended in a Union army victory. 
  • Battle of Gettysburg 
  •  The Siege of Vicksburg was when the Union army surrounded the city of Vicksburg. This battle was not an average battle it took over a month for it to finish. It lasted from May 18, 1863 to July 4, 1863 and ended in a Union victory. 
  • Lee's Surrender at Appomattox Court House 
  • The emancipation proclamation was when released in January 1, 1863. Abraham Lincoln made it in three years into bloody war. It stated that all slaves in rebellious states shall be free. 
  • the battle of Gettysburg was fought in a town called Gettysburg. It was a turning point in the civil war because this battle made the confederates retreat. It as fought in July 1, 1863 and ended in July 3, 1863. 
  • This was when Lee surrendered and the Union won the war. it was in Appomattox court house. the date was April 9th 1826.
